wordpress: i got absolved second "home" page, nonetheless it's good enough

i have wordpress site (2.6.2) i have set home page stationary page instead normal posts page. id page 2, wordpress template i have altered wp_list_pages feeling this:

<?php wp_list_pages('exclude=2&title_li=&depth=1' ); ?>

this works fine, nonetheless home page doesn't "lit up" it's comparison (because fact it's page_id 2 selected, doesn't arrangement menu). there any easy proceed around this?

if not, extended outlines, what's tough proceed around this? possess chronicle wp_list_pages function?
