bad_alloc blunder controlling std::string


i'm now operative digest depends me providing route record (eg. c:\path.pth). now, i all operative yesterday job std::string with:



std::string path(`"c:\\path.pth`");


but doesn't work. throws bad_alloc. seems '\' impression problem. i even attempted controlling \x5c ascii-value instead, nonetheless same result.



now, doubt is, illusory i have screwed adult #define, compiler-option something else "non-code" could've caused this? i'm controlling vs 2005.
