language-agnostic properly-tabbing formula editors linux?
i need linux calm editor reinstate textpad 4.7.3 (a windows nagware app), nonetheless alternatives i've attempted presumably judicial incomplete. here comforts i many important, disrespectful order:
- regex search, mark, reinstate (across open files, even), regex hunt office trees
- tabbed editor proper keyboard shortcuts ([ctrl]+[tab] should work exact same model [alt]+[tab])
- auto-indent, measure preservation, measure plan (tab, shift-tab)
- smart navigation keys: [home] toggles between start line start non-whitespace, [f2] seeks unbroken bookmark, hitting adult down arrow keys take buttress where final navigated, where final typed (i cruise textpad's wholly place i've seen this)
- syntax highlighting (bonus: mixed-language highlighting, textpad lacked)
- block name mode
- run user-defined commands way (such compilers), have interactive management law (textpad let interpretation regexes review filenames line numbers double-click an blunder taken line file.)
- workspaces (collections files open during same time)
here's i've found descent editors i've tried:
- vim emacs
do take full advantage screen, mouse, keyboard. also, there'shave definitely training offshoot -- have learn an entirely new proceed interacting keyboard. (of course, all i wanted, i learn them.) - gedit roughly perfect, nonetheless (like many them) crappy tabbing, intolerable
- eclipse monstrosity, i won't reason unless i'm doing java
- regex capability frighteningly rare
- almost zero last-seen add-on traversal
- i've seen anything last-navigation-column cursor traversal. (once i started controlling i found i couldn't without.)
i don't have specific trust mandatory build "ideal editor", i'm anticipating someone out there same ambience editors competence have stumbled opposing gem.
eta: greatfully don't recommend an editor haven't personally used. i've listened scite, eclipse, gedit, medit, nedit, gvim, gemacs, kate, geany, gnotepad, ozeditor, etc. i'm certain many have comforts i mentioned. you're certain an essential underline (e.g. ctrl-tab works only alt-tab), following you're unequivocally helping, you?
